As Responsible Gambling Awareness Week kicks off for another year, Western Australians are reminded that support is available for those experiencing gambling related harm.

The annual event which this year runs from 19-25 October, is aimed at promoting responsible gambling and highlighting the support services available.

In WA, gambling providers and the State Government through the Problem Gambling Services Support Committee fund a 24/7 helpline, online counselling and face-to-face counselling services for those affected by problem gambling.

In early 2018, the State Government launched a digital advertising campaign ‘Show Gambling Who’s Boss’ which is being continued in 2020. Since the campaign began, the Gamble Aware website has had more than 60,000 visits.

Anyone concerned about their gambling can seek support by calling the Problem Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 or the GambleAware website.
