The first rebate in the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ Activating Alfresco Rebate Program has been made to a local patisserie in South Fremantle.

Patisserie La Vespa on South Terrace will use its $5000 grant to purchase new furniture as it extends its alfresco area.

The Activating Alfresco Rebate Program allows small businesses, including cafés, bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels, to apply for a rebate of up to $5000 for the cost of alfresco purchases. These could include furniture, weather protection, art, and lighting.

To date, more than 400 applications have been received from across the State, including regional hospitality businesses in the South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Mid West and the Kimberley.

The Activating Alfresco program is part of the State Government’s $67 million COVID-19 Business Assistance Package, enabling eligible businesses to expand their COVID-safe dining out spaces.
