Annual report
Our Annual Report for 2022/23 has now been published. During the year, with the support of the staff of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, we issued more than 1900 community gaming permits and certificates, and administered more than 2000 casino employee licences, as well as conducting more than 7000 audits and investigations across the state.
New Chief Casino Officer
Mr Leigh Radis has been appointed as the new Chief Casino Officer. The CCO is responsible for overseeing the GWC’s day-to-day operations in regulating the Perth Crown Casino. Leigh has an extensive history in gaming and wagering regulation and in government.

Limits on professional fundraiser fees
Several charities and other groups in Western Australia use professional fundraisers to conduct raffles on their behalf. The commission has recently reviewed the fees that these fundraisers are permitted to charge, which currently stands at 77% of funds raised. Effective from 1st December 2023, the maximum take will be reduced to 70%.

The GWC has recently become a signatory to Crime Stoppers, so you can now lodge reports about issues relating to gambling and wagering through this service.
