Aboriginal Cultural Centre Steering Committee communique 10

The Aboriginal Cultural Centre project Steering Committee (Phase 2) held its 10th meeting on 18 December 2024.

The Steering Committee considered several recommendations from the Gateway Review to provide greater clarity and direction for the drafting of the Project Definition Plan (PDP). 

Steering Committee members were provided with information about the following matters:

• Gateway Review Recommendation Action Plan which outlines strategies to address recommendations outlined in the Gateway report
• project benefits including key performance indicators
• the creation of a bridging document as an addendum to the business case.

The Steering Committee endorsed the following items:

• draft Terms of Reference for the Whadjuk Reference Group and the Cultural Advisory Group
• a vision statement for the project planning stage
• the statement on project partnership with Aboriginal people
• the updated master plan.

This meeting was the last for Steering Committee Chair, Jessica Stojkovski MLA, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, prior to the Western Australian State Election in March 2025. Ms Stojkovski was thanked for her contributions to the committee.
