Today, the portfolios of Creative Industries, Tourism, Sport and Multicultural Interests have joined to become the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS).

This follows the Public Sector Reform announced by Premier Roger Cook MLA on 31 March which reflects a renewed focus on the priorities of the Western Australian community including creating more jobs and a stronger, more diversified economy.

The reform includes the local government and racing, gaming and liquor divisions today joining the newly created Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety.

CITS continues to work collaboratively with government, community organisations, peak bodies and other stakeholders to achieve our vision of Western Australia being celebrated as the best place to live, work and visit in Australia.
