An unused pocket of land in Ferndale has been transformed into a welcoming new play and recreation space for the community, with support from the WA Government.

The new Wisteria Park next to Fountain College has been developed by the City of Canning and marks the delivery of a $450,000 election commitment.

The new Wisteria Park features:

  • children's playground with a basket swing;
  • swings for adults and children;
  • soccer playing area;
  • increased tree canopy and shrubs;
  • new pathways; and
  • picnic tables, benches and logs.

The project has been shaped by strong community feedback and will provide an inclusive space for local children and families.

More improvements are planned for the park, after the WA Government committed a further $87,000 at the 2025 State Election for additional facilities, including a new barbeque, drink fountain and shelter.

This brings the government's total investment in the park to $537,000.
