The Aboriginal Cultural Centre project Steering Committee (Phase 2) held its 13th meeting on 29 August 2025.
The Aboriginal Cultural Centre project Steering Committee (Phase 2) held its 13th meeting on 29 August 2025.
This meeting was chaired by Steering Committee Chair and Parliamentary Secretary Divina D’Anna MLA.
The Chair’s update included the following:
- Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation (WAC) requested their current Chair Geri Hayden represent WAC on the ACC Steering Committee. The Chair thanked the outgoing WAC member, Vickey Hill, for her contribution to the ACC Steering Committee.
- The Chair and Minister for Creative Industries, the Hon Simone McGurk MLA, met with the Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Roger Cook MLA to provide a briefing on the ACC project and upcoming key decisions for the project.
The Committee noted the following items:
- Project Governance Report
- Project Definition Plan (PDP) Update
The Committee endorsed the following items:
- Stakeholder Engagement Report
- Communications and Media Report
- Project Control Group Sub-Committee Update
- Risk and Issues Register
- Project Progress Report Including Financial Update
- Operational Plan and Financial Model (subject to further refinement)
- Cost Benefit Analysis with Immersive
- Benefits Realisation Plan
The Committee then held a workshop to discuss three (3) Entity Operating Model options for the future Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Discussions were held on the options including the benefits, risks, Aboriginal representation, legislative requirements and timeframes to achieve each option.
The Committee noted the Entity Operating Model Report. Further information will be presented to the Committee in October 2025, including a key set of principles and transition timeframes elements for the preferred option.
