Learn about child safeguarding in local government
Local government staff are invited to attend an in-person workshop increase understanding of how to create and maintain child safe environments through implementation of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
To maximise the benefit for each organisation, local governments are encouraged to nominate three to five representatives from a diverse range of service areas. The workshop content will be particularly relevant to teams across People and Culture, Risk and Governance, as well as staff working in community-facing roles, facility management, and program delivery.
The session will offer practical examples of action you can take to become more child safe, offering networking opportunity and for you to hear examples of child safe practices from colleagues within your zone.
Confirm which zone your local government is in on the WALGA website.
This initial series of workshops forms the first phase of our wider engagement program, with more opportunities to be communicated as they become available.
