Intro

I am delighted to announce that the Hon. Mick Murray, MLA, Minister for Sport has announced that Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Gary Ingraham to the Combat Sports Commission for a period of 2 years, commencing 1 February 2021.

Mr. Ingraham is eminently qualified, with over 30 years’ experience in the boxing industry as a contestant, trainer and official, including:

  • International recognition as a professional referee and judge who has officiated at both Commonwealth and Worlds Title Fights throughout Australia, South Africa, Japan and South East Asia.
  • A long standing head referee, throughout Western Australia at many and varied Boxing contests
  • Currently the Boxing and fitness coach and personal trainer for the “Fremantle Football Club”
  • Founder and owner of “Spring into Fitness” Gymnasium established and successfully conducted for the past 17 years.  

Gary brings a wealth of personal and professional expertise to the Commission that will compliment and reinforce the Commission’s mission and direction, especially in these challenging times. I congratulate him and welcome him into the broader Combat Sports Family. He was unanimously selected following an appropriate recruitment and interview process chaired by myself as Chief Commissioner as a replacement for retiring Commission Member Glen Austin, who I thank sincerely for his commitment and service to the Commission.
