High Performance Leaders Network

A key high performance strategy of the department to support State Sporting Associations (SSAs) to develop and deliver effective high performance plans.

As part of this strategy the department has developed the High Performance Leaders Network (HPLN) to provide a forum for SSA High Performance Leaders to meet and discuss various trends and issues associated with improving the high performance sport system in Western Australia.

The department will hold 2-3 forums per year, covering key topics to assist SSAs improve their knowledge and understanding of high performance systems and pathways and to develop and implement effective high performance planning and processes.

Key theme: Lessons Learned from Gold Coast 2018

Presented by Brian Miller, Sport Psychologist and High Performance Consultant.

  • How should GC 2018 inform our plans for Tokyo 2020 and Birmingham 2022?
  • What can we apply at State level?
  • Included a panel session with Nina Kennedy (pole vault bronze medalist), Courtney Bruce (netball silver medalist), Zac Incerti (50m Backstroke bronze medalist ) and Mick Palfery (swimming coach), Flynn Ogilvie (men’s hockey gold medalist) and Madeleine Ratcliffe (women’s hockey silver medalist).
