State cricket stars shine with the help of the ATSS and RASP
Teague Wyllie has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the professional ranks of Western Australian cricket with his recent debut for WA, as well as being a part of the historic WA team who recently won the Sheffield Shield.
Wyllie, who made headlines earlier this year with his starring role with Australia in the ICC under 19 World Cup, has benefitted from the support of the Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy (ATSS) which provides funding assistance to regional Western Australian athletes who aspire to reach their full sporting potential.
The Mandurah product, who plays his club cricket for Rockingham Mandurah District Cricket Club, continues to live in Mandurah and travels consistently to the WACA ground for training and playing commitments within the WA Cricket programs he is a part of.
Teague has also been a past member of the Peel Regional Academy of Sports (PRAS) which is a part of the Regional Athlete Support Program (RASP). The Regional Athlete Support Program is a state-wide network supporting regional-based talented
athletes, coaches and officials.
Not to be outdone, Teague’s sister Georgia Wyllie made her WA State debut this season for the WA Women’s team versus South Australia and was recently named the Female Rising Star as well as being awarded the peer selected Legacy Award at the
recent WA Cricket Awards. Teague was awarded the Male Rising Star.
Georgia has also benefited from the support provided by the RASP and ATSS schemes as well as being an alumni of the PRAS program.
