The strategy aims to transform the way sport participation is connected, delivered and supported in Australia and is being facilitated by the Australian Sports Commission in partnership with sector stakeholders.

The survey covers a range of areas including the challenges participants face, behavioural trends at grassroots levels and what the investment priorities should be in the coming years.

National Sport Participation Strategy Roadshows are currently being held across the country, including in Perth, where representatives from state sporting associations and community organisations gathered at the DLGSC office in Leederville, to learn about the strategy and provide input to and feedback on the work done to date, look at success factors and test the barriers and issues already identified.

ASC CEO and PSG member Kieren Perkins OAM said participating in sport had many personal and community benefits.

“We know Australians value sport and by taking part in the short survey, you will be contributing to a collective effort to create a more active and healthy Australia through sport.”

“Sport needs to be more open and inclusive and we need to ensure that we are providing more opportunities for all Australians to be involved in sport in whatever role they choose.”

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and closes at 5pm on Friday 16 June 2023.
