The department is hosting a webinar on 16 December to discuss the recommendation that organisations engaged in child related work implement Child Safe Standards and be overseen by an external body to improve child safe practices and handling of child abuse complaints.
The recommendation is part of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (the Royal Commission).
The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations represent the Child Safe Standards.
The webinar will assist organisations that engage with or provide services and activities to children to better understand this recommendation and to prepare a response.
The State Government, through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC), is running an online survey about the independent oversight of organisations in complying with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. The survey will be open until 26 February 2021.
