Minister David Templeman at the Indonesia Connect Roadshow

Led by International Education, and Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman, members of the delegation and representatives from business, academia and government, attended the International Education and Creative Industry Symposium.

Minister Templeman delivered a keynote speech to open the event, which highlighted investment and trade opportunities while showcasing current bilateral projects.

Minister Templeman has also met with the Putera Sampoerna Foundation, and visited the Penabur Christian Education Foundation, at a school campus to both promote Western Australia as a study destination for Indonesian students, and explore exchange programs and school-to-school activities.

In the first 5 months of 2023, there has been a 35% growth in international student enrolments from Indonesia, when compared to the same period last year.

International education and creative industries have an important role to play in the diversification of the State's economic and employment landscape.

Currently the creative industries sector contributes approximately $3.3 billion dollars to the local economy, and employs more than 50,000 Western Australians.
