More than 23,200 students from 811 WA schools took part in the challenge, which ran from May to September. Hundreds of school staff also signed up to be Challenge Champions — an initiative where school staff become ambassadors to promote the program and encourage students to get involved.

Premier Roger Cook and Education Minister Dr Tony Buti today presented the winning schools and students with prizes at a ceremony at Parliament House.

Students who read the most books in each age category received a certificate, trophy, and a family travel voucher to spend on an adventure within WA. Winning schools received a framed certificate and an author workshop experience.
