The Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program, developed jointly by the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and the Department of Education, aims to facilitate partnerships and agreements between schools and community sporting groups to better utilise existing facilities.
The funding will be allocated to eligible items such as minor equipment purchases including goalposts, nets, hoops, backboards or netting, as well as upgrades to facilities such as the installation of gates, locks, and monitoring equipment for safe access outside school hours.
Funds can also be used for minor playing surface enhancements for ovals and courts to increase useability by a community sporting group.
The funding program will open in the first term of 2025.
