The recently announced portfolio changes and renaming of the new Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport will support the future growth and sustainability of the Creative Industries sector.

We are supporting the growth of emerging talent and making WA a place where local creatives stay to work, produce and mentor others – where those who have left are encouraged to come home to a vibrant and thriving sector, and where internationals are enticed to invest and stay while using WA backdrop and facilities as their showcase to the world.

With strong government support and growing international interest, WA is well-positioned to harness global opportunities, attracting investment and showcasing local talent on the world stage.

This commitment is supported the Government's 10-year plan, Creative WA, which outlines our vision for culture, the arts and creativity.

The plan brings together initiatives across government and explores key partnerships to ensure the creative, cultural and arts sector can deliver, and benefit from, improved social, cultural and economic outcomes for Western Australia.

By strengthening pathways into creative careers and supporting education, we aim to grow a dynamic, resilient workforce that already contributes $3.3 billion annually to our economy and employs more than 51,000 people.

Showcasing WA’s unique stories, talent and creativity will help drive new job creation, creative innovation and investment attraction making WA an even better place to live and visit.
