Project update

The redevelopment reaches a major milestone

Redevelopment of the iconic Perth Concert Hall is full steam ahead marking an exciting new chapter for this heritage-listed landmark.

There’s a buzz of activity on site, as construction of Perth’s renewed home of music and entertainment makes way for a new future.

What’s happening onsite

Demolition of the southern forecourt is progressing well, with concrete cutting now complete and the large excavator work nearly finished. The structure is almost fully dismantled.

Structural and services investigations are ongoing both inside and outside the venue to assess the existing infrastructure.

In both the lower and upper carparks, column strengthening continues to support the new design and ensure long-term structural integrity.

Staying sustainable through the Roads to Reuse initiative

The revitalisation of the Perth Concert Hall is not just about preserving a cultural landmark, it’s also committed to sustainability.

Through the Roads to Reuse initiative, waste materials from the demolition of the southern forecourt will be repurposed to improve roads in WA. This innovative program helps reduce waste, support a circular economy, and enhance the durability of local roads — all while giving old materials a new purpose.

The Early Works, including demolition of the southern forecourt and other structural works, is on track to be finished by July 2025. Detailed and intrusive investigations throughout the rest of the building are ongoing. The Main Works are due to commence in November 2025.

The project is on track for completion in late 2027, ahead of reopening in early 2028.
