Intro

Chad brings with him over 20 years’ leadership experience across federal, state and territory governments with a strong track record in the finance, education, sport and tourism sectors.

He was most recently the Deputy Director General of Tourism at the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation where he had responsibility for setting strategic direction and leading the Tourism industry across Queensland.

Chad previously held senior positions at the Queensland Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport; the Queensland Department of Housing and Works; and the Australian Sports Commission. Chad has also represented Australia as a professional triathlete.

Chad’s appointment follows the Premier’s announcement earlier this year, regarding a range of changes across the public sector.

Chad said he was excited about the move to the department (and Western Australia!), and the new opportunities it presented

‘I’m really looking forward to working with the team at CITS in my new role as Director General,’ he said.

‘The department’s breadth of work is truly inspiring and I’m eager to contribute from day one.

‘I look forward to collaborating with our industry stakeholders and teams across the department to deliver on the WA Government’s agenda to drive economic diversification through the creative industries, sport and recreation, multicultural interests and tourism.’
