Constructed as part of the WACA Ground Improvement Project, which is a joint initiative between the WA Government, Federal Government and City of Perth in partnership with WA Cricket and Cricket Australia, the world-class community hub will be known as 'The Pavilion'.

The facility will be managed by leading Australian operator of premium health clubs and aquatic centres, BlueFit, providing the community with exceptional fitness, aquatic, and wellness experiences overlooking the WACA Ground.

The Pavilion will offer patrons the unique experience of watching live sport from a 50-metre pool alongside a fully equipped gymnasium, group fitness studios, and wellness spaces designed to cater to beginners, families, elite athletes, and seniors alike.

It will also feature an indoor learn-to-swim pool, water slides, aquatic play area, all abilities playground, and a public café called Wirin, which means "spirit" in Noongar and will feature a menu reflective of the six Noongar seasons.

The Pavilion name pays homage to WA Cricket's rich heritage and the enduring spirit of community that has defined the WACA Ground since the first pavilion was established at the venue in 1895.

The WACA redevelopment is supported by a $99.7 million investment from the WA Government and $5.2 million from Lotterywest to create a more accessible, lively and inclusive community precinct in East Perth.

It also forms part of the Western Australian Government's PlayOn WA: 2030 by 2030 initiative to deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure items across WA by the year 2030, backed by $332 million in the 2025-26 State Budget.
