A group of people play lawn bowls at the North Perth Bowling Club

The upgrades were made possible through a $40,000 WA Government election commitment and a $95,983 grant from the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund.

The redevelopment included the installation of a new synthetic bowling surface, drainage system and reticulation, and a specially engineered base designed to meet World Bowls Association standards.

The new synthetic surface offers a durable and weather-resilient green that can be used all year round which is set to make the game more accessible for players of all ages and abilities.

The improved facility will also enable the club to host more tournaments and community events, strengthening social connections and improving participation in local sport.

The project forms part of the State Government’s PlayOn WA initiative to deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure items across WA by the year 2030.

PlayOn WA reflects the Government's ongoing investment in healthier, more connected communities through the delivery of accessible sport and recreation spaces for all Western Australians.
