Intro

Council members are invited to attend a webinar presented by the eSafety Commissioner to equip them with the tools to navigate social media safely and confidently.

It will provide practical strategies to help manage online abuse and strengthen digital wellbeing — key skills for those in public-facing roles.

What the webinar will cover:

  • Types of online abuse commonly experienced by people in public roles.
  • Personal and professional impacts of online abuse.
  • How to set up social media platforms for increased safety.
  • Proactive de-escalation strategies.
  • How to report abuse to eSafety.
  • Self-care to support wellbeing.
  • Real-world case studies and practical responses.

This aligns with LGIRS’ commitment to safer online environments for all Western Australians and complements council member induction.
