In December the Minister for Creative Industries announced the formation of a taskforce to guide the development of a Creative Industries Action Plan to support the growth of Western Australia’s creative industries. 

The taskforce is comprised of esteemed leaders from across the State’s diverse creative sectors providing their unique industry perspectives to help shape WA’s creative future. The Creative Industries Action Plan Taskforce includes: 

  • Sandy Anghie — Co-founder and Chair, Perth Design Week 
  • Julie Barratt — Director Arts Strategy, DADAA 
  • Rikki Lea Bestall — CEO, Screenwest 
  • Ian Booth — CEO, Black Swan State Theatre 
  • Mark Braddock — Co-founder and Creative Strategy Director, Block Branding; Co-founder and Board Member, IN:WA  
  • Jacky Cheng — Artist, educator and facilitator 
  • Chad Creighton — CEO, Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia 
  • Josh Edge — Executive Creative Director, Anthologie; Committee, Perth Advertising and Design Club  
  • Iain Grandage AM — Director of Programming, Melbourne Recital Centre; former Artistic Director, Perth Festival (2020-2024)  
  • Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa OAM — CEO, Blue Room Theatre  
  • Hazel Law — Director, The Curated Wardrobe & Circular Fashion Festival 
  • Mat Lewis — Director, Creative Tech Village: WA’s Creative Tech Innovation Hub 
  • Harrison Lorenz-Daniel — Theatre maker; Learning and Engagement Officer, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre;  
  • Tabitha McMullan — CEO, FORM Building a State of Creativity 
  • Mathew Palumbo — Partner Liaison, WA Games Industry Council 
  • Dalisa Pigram — Co-artistic Director, Marrugeku 
  • Anna Reece — Artistic Director, Perth Festival 
  • Daniel Romanin — Co-founder and Head Designer, One Fell Swoop 
  • Tasma Walton — Actor and Author 
  • Dimmity Walker — Director, spaceagency Architects 
  • Terri-ann White — Founder, Upswell Publishing 
  • Owen Whittle — CEO, Western Australian Music  

The taskforce members were appointed by the Minister for Creative Industries and have been selected for their contributions and connection to WA’s creative industries.  

The Creative Industries Action Plan will support the Western Australian Government’s priority of fostering a vibrant and creative economy as we continue to deliver against Diversify WA, our economic development framework, and Creative WA, our 10-year vision for the creative industries.
