The State Government has announced the Level 1 COVID-19 Business Assistance Package.
A competitive multiyear funding program to support Western Australia’s arts, cultural and creative sector organisations.
The program will open for applications in September 2022 for funding commencing 1 January 2024 for Calendar Year organisations and 1 July 2023 for Financial Year organisations.
The Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries will be undertaking a review of the existing goals and objectives of the program to ensure a greater policy alignment of the program with State Government priorities and the department’s broader investment framework.
The program invites applications every three years and consists of two categories with a minimum request of $100,000 per annum:

The program invited applications in May 2019 and received 61 eligible applications.
A peer panel was convened to assess and provide recommendations to the department and the Minister for Culture and the Arts. The panel was chaired by Professor Ted Snell AM, Cit WA and included Natalie Jenkins, Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, Nina Levy, Glenn Iseger-Pilkington, Elizabeth Spencer, Gina McGill, Irina Cattalini and Suzie Haslehurst.In October the Minister for Culture and the Arts announced the successful organisations in a media statement.
