For arts and cultural projects in regional WA that align with the following objectives:

  • Increase access to and/or participation in arts and culture in regional Western Australia.
  • Provide employment opportunities, skills development or/and career pathways for regional Western Australian artists and arts workers.
  • Encourage development of regional creative and cultural industries including cultural tourism.

The Club Night Lights Program exemplifies the State Government’s commitment to the development of sustainable floodlighting infrastructure for sport across the State.

The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure. The program aims to maintain or increase participation in sport and recreation with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.

Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund

The Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) exemplifies the Western Australian Government's commitment to the development of sustainable infrastructure for sport and recreation across the State.

The purpose of the program is to provide Western Australian Government financial assistance to community groups and local government authorities to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation.

The program aims to increase participation in sport and recreation, with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of sustainable, good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.

Through CSRFF, the State Government will invest annually in the development of high-quality physical environments in which people can enjoy sport and recreation.

There is $20 million available for allocation in the 2024/2025 funding round.

North West Travel Subsidy aims to assist young athletes from the North West with travel costs.

The North West Travel Subsidy (NWTS) aims to encourage participation in identified sport and active recreation activities for athletes living in the regions of the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne and other remote locations within the Mid West and Goldfields regions.

Funding to support the expansion of annual programs delivered by arts venues in regional Western Australia over a 3-year period.

The primary objective of the Regional Arts Venues Support program is to support the development of regional arts venues by enhancing their reach and engagement. 

Supporting objectives:

  • Raise the quality, scale and profile of the arts in regional Western Australia
  • Boost employment and tourism opportunities in regional Western Australia  
  • Enable regional arts venues to better leverage investment and generate income
  • Increase opportunities for regional communities to participate in arts and cultural activities and contribute to the liveability and vibrancy of regional communities.

The Regional Athlete Support Program is a statewide network supporting regional-based talented athletes, coaches and officials which allows athletes to continue their development and progress along the athlete pathway from their home environment.

Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme

Funding always open

The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme provides funding assistance to regional Western Australian athletes who aspire to reach their full sporting potential.

The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme (ATSS) is an initiative supporting regional athletes who have progressed into the high performance pathway of their chosen sport and are pursuing regional, state and national representation.

Eligible regional athletes can receive funding for out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses directly related to competitions and programs in accordance with the performance level categories and eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines.

Subsidies for regional athletes are provided through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions Program.

Community Place Based Grants

Funding round closed

Co-designed, place based structured holiday and out-of-school activity programs.

The Community Place Based Grants program provides funding for the development and delivery of co-designed, place based structured holiday and out-of-school activity programs in the Kimberley, Goldfields, Pilbara and Gascoyne regions.

The program includes a process to work with local government, Aboriginal leaders and service organisations, to embed sport and recreation in community-led activities and events that target vulnerable and at-risk youth and their families.

The aim is to fund programs for multiple years to ensure a consistent quality approach to programs to get traction, build capacity and have a collective impact.

Playing WA Multiyear

Funding round closed

Funding to support a 3-year program touring WA-produced performing arts shows to regional and remote towns and communities in Western Australia.

Up to $400,000 for touring programs delivered across 3 years that align with 2 or more of the following objectives:

  • Increase the number, quality and variety of performances touring to regional WA.
  • Engage new audiences and contribute to the liveability and vibrancy of regional communities by enabling local communities to make decisions about their performing arts needs.
  • Establish or further develop partnerships, collaborations and/or networks between artists, producers, arts organisations, regional venues and communities.
  • Provide employment and/or professional skill development opportunities for regional artists and arts workers in regional WA.
  • Support projects that increase access and participation or presentation opportunities by, with or for Aboriginal communities and/or young people.

The Regional Performing Arts grant program is available for one-off touring programs. 

Regional and Remote Festivals Fund
