‘Showcase’ will profile the creativity, skill and talent of artists and arts organisations in Western Australia through media, social media platforms and outdoor screens across the city.
Fair Game Australia works in remote areas of the Pilbara to improve participation and provide access to facilities, services and equipment to youth in need with preloved equipment.
Its programs are fun, engaging and interactive aimed at building fitness, knowledge and skills, and support a healthy lifestyle through health education programs.
The program has established strong partnerships between community Elders, local Police and Community Youth Centre’s (PCYC), youth officers and local government.
In 2023, the program delivered more than 35 sessions to 8 different communities, reaching more than 300 participants, with more than 90% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Teachers reported higher school attendance when Fair Game is running programs, such as its ‘Healthy Communities’ sessions which focus on general hygiene, lung health and nutrition.
This initiative was supported through the Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Grants Program, which provides grants up to $150,000 to help organisations create accessible and safe physical activity opportunities for low participation groups.
