The purpose of a Calcutta permit is to allow a charitable group, community-based organisation or sporting body to raise funds for the benefit of the community.
Calcutta permits cannot be granted for personal gain or commercial undertaking, and organisations that are granted a permit must abide by the conditions set by the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987 (“the Act”).
