Liquor Commission

The Liquor Commission was established under section 8 of the Liquor Control Act 1988 to provide a flexible system with as little formality and technicality as practicable.

Liquor Control Act 1988

The Liquor Control Act 1988 regulates the sale, supply and consumption of liquor, the use of premises on which liquor is sold and the services and facilities provided in conjunction with, or ancillary to the sale of liquor in order to minimise harm or ill-health caused to people due to the use of liquor.

Liquor Control Regulations 1989

The Liquor Control Act 1988 is supported and complimented by subsidiary legislation outlined in the Liquor Control Regulations 1989.

Liquor Commission Rules 2007

The Rules of the Liquor Commission regulate the practice and procedure of the Commission and matters that are related and subject to the regulations, as to the costs and charges payable in relation to proceedings under this Act. On 5 October 2007 the Liquor Commission Rules 2007 were published in the Government Gazette and have effect from that date.
