Liquor Commission

The Liquor Commission was established under section 8 of the Liquor Control Act 1988.

In December 2025, the Western Australian Parliament passed the Liquor Control Amendment Act 2025, which received Royal Assent. This Act removes the Liquor Commission’s review and disciplinary powers. These changes are scheduled to start 1 July 2026. From that date, the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) will take over the Commission’s role. Any unresolved matters will be transferred to SAT.
