Planning changes to reduce red tape

Jun 21, 2021, 12:17 PM by Geoff White
Opinion from the local government sector is being sought on reform to support changes in the planning system.

Opportunities to mirror reforms across the sector, reducing red tape, improving transparency and supporting better decision making across all levels of government will also be explored.

Local governments, the Western Australian Local Government Association and other key stakeholders will be invited to take part in consultations over the next three months to inform the drafting of legislation.

This consultation will be led by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage Planning reform team, in consultation with the department, and will be open until late October.

Have your say on planning reform.
