The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) is calling for grant submissions for the WA Hiking Participation Grant Program.

Grant amounts of $5000 up to $25,000 are available and aimed at growing participation in hiking across the state through the development and delivery of new opportunities for participation, skill development and leadership capacity building in hiking and trail running.

DLGSC is actively encouraging state active sporting and recreation associations and clubs, local governments and community organisations across Western Australia to apply.

Applicants are encouraged to be creative and innovative in the development of their projects that encourage participation and capitalise on the benefits of trail running and bushwalking.

Projects should align with the WA Hiking Strategy, and adhere to the Australian Adventure Activity Standards.

Past grant recipients have implemented a range of programs and projects, including an Aboriginal hiking leadership program, overnight hiking for women, events targeting culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and more.

Entries close 5:00pm (WST) Monday 6 November 2023.
