Regional town benefits from DLGSC’s Community Sporting and Recreational Facilities Fund program

Through our department’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) 2022-2023 Annual Forward Planning round, the Shire of Murray received $750,000 for the new Lovegrove Sports Pavilion in Pinjarra.

Sporting facilities are often the heart of regional towns and help keep communities connected and live healthy and active lifestyles. And this project was especially important to the 550 cricket and hockey club members.

The infrastructure works included a new clubhouse, kitchen, equipment stores, expanded oval and carpark, plus new women’s changerooms to assist in increasing female participation in cricket and hockey.

With a total project valued of $3.8 million, other funding partners included the Australian Government, the Shire of Murray, Cricket Australia, Lotterywest and Alcoa.  Their funding contributions will enable this wonderful pavilion to be enjoyed for years to come.

The CSRFF program will assist more sporting and recreational clubs with boosted funding of $20 million a year for the next 2 years, up from $12.5 million.
