$350,000 available for community causes — grant applications now open

Applications are now open for the Gaming Community Trust grants program which distributes unclaimed gambling winnings to worthwhile community causes.

In 2024, a total of $350,000 is available to support individuals and groups who can demonstrate clear community benefits of their projects in support of their application for funding.

Individual grants of between $20,000 and $50,000 are available under 3 categories:

  1. First Nations Promotion — supporting and promoting First Nations communities and culture
  2. Disability Inclusion — addressing specific issues faced by people with disabilities and promotion of involvement and inclusivity
  3. Gambling Harm Reduction — research into gambling, support to those suffering from the negative effects of gambling and reduction of gambling harm.

Last year’s funding allocation saw 13 community groups sharing a total of $508,781 in grants, with sporting, cultural and other community activities, events and projects supported.

Applications for 2024 close at 4pm on Thursday 8 August.
