Better home a reality for Greenwood scouts

Nov 13, 2024, 10:16 AM by User Not Found
Works to substantially improve the Greenwood Scout Hall and nearby Calectasia Hall are now complete thanks to WA Government funding.

The project was made possible after the approval of a financial assistance agreement with the City of Joondalup for a $600,000 contribution to the major upgrade of the facilities primarily used by the Goollelal-Greenwood Scout Group and the Greenwood Toy Library.

The project involved a major renovation of the Greenwood Scout Hall and some minor works carried out on Calectasia Hall, both located on the same site.

The improvement works included:

  • better storage
  • upgrades to lighting
  • better heating and cooling in the main hall and lounge area
  • upgrades to the fencing
  • increasing the size of the undercover outdoor area.

Providing better facilities for local groups to meet and to recreate is a DLGSC objective and is important in building better, more connected communities.
